20/20

Surgery is coming up on Friday and I have to say I'm getting a little nervous.  I just keep reminding myself that it's worth 20 minutes of horrible-ness and a few days of discomfort to have clear vision!  I've been wearing my glasses for 3 weeks now and have had just about enough.  I don't know how people stand wearing glasses full time.  They drive me crazy!  So thankful that I've been able to wear contacts for so long and that in a few days I won't need glasses or contacts!

Just for fun I found a website that mimics your eye prescription.
www.eye-sim.com for those of you that want to see how your spouse or child views life without glasses.
All you do is plug in your glasses prescription.  Here's mine ...

The one on the top is 20/20 vision.  The bottom one is how I see.  I'd say its fairly accurate.  I'm so glad to live in the century I do.  I can't imagine living before eye doctors.  I would be a very useless person.  I suppose I could sew - very, very close to my face.

This one is pretty crazy too.  It's found at www.billaur.co.il/simulator.html
I'd say this one is close but not totally accurate.  I can usually at least make out the shape of the top E.  The second like looks very familiar though!  They flash that on the screen at the doctor's office and I just laugh.  There's two of something! But I have no idea what those somethings are! haha!

Corpus Christi

A couple of weekends ago we took the boys to the beach.  It was so fun for our little family to get away for a long weekend.  We had such a good time!  We drove to Corpus Christi on Thursday afternoon so it was getting dark when we arrived.  After talking about the beach for weeks and driving for 7 hours it didn't seem fair to just toss everyone in bed when we got there, so we took a walk down to the surf.  Oh. my. goodness. I had to watch Garrett every second we were down there!  That kid is fearless!  He walked right into the waves and would've just kept going on out to sea.  He really started to scare me after awhile.  I just knew he was going to go under and I wasn't going to be able to find him.  So we called it a night and came back when it was daylight.

Daylight for us meant we were on the beach by 7:30 am.  It was early, but it worked out great.  We missed the crowds and the heat of the day and still got plenty of beach time!  Hudson and Cooper loved "chasing" the waves and making sand castles.  Garrett wanted to be in the ocean as much as possible.  We also spent lots of time at the pool at our condo.  It was such a good weekend!  I'm so glad our kids are all at an age where we can start doing more of these family trips!

All ready for some fun!
That's Jeff way out there with Garrett - our little water baby

The view from our condo - so pretty!
An early morning on the beach meant catching a beautiful sunrise
Cooper being a goof wearing Mommy's hat
Checking out the town - I sent H & C up to the dolphins to take their picture and before I knew it G was up there too.  He did not want to be left out! :)

Soccer

I am officially a soccer mom (the team mom, in fact!)  Hudson has been so excited to play soccer!  We made him wait until kindergarten and here we are!  We really wanted him to be able to play on the same team as his friend Joe, but since they are in different school districts both dads had to coach to make that happen.  Awesome dads that they are - they agreed!  Hudson is so excited to have his daddy as his coach and we're looking forward to lots of fun Saturdays watching soccer.  Go Sharks!
